Michelle has a proven track record of delivering exceptional customer service and operational excellence. With over 10 years of experience in customer service, she brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to her role.

Raised in the very town where our business thrives, Michelle has developed a keen understanding of the importance of attention to detail and delivering premium service. She graduated from Greenwich High School, where she cultivated her strong work ethic and commitment to excellence.

Throughout her career, Michelle has honed her customer service skills, always going the extra mile to exceed expectations and build long-lasting relationships. She is known for her excellent communication skills, problem-solving abilities, and dedication to going above and beyond to meet customer needs. Her friendly and approachable demeanor makes her a trusted point of contact for both customers and team members.

In addition to her extensive customer service experience, Michelle has also played a pivotal role in assisting in the preoperative and postoperative areas. Her attention to detail, organizational prowess, and strong teamwork skills have contributed to the seamless flow of operations and exceptional care provided to patients.

Outside of work, Michelle finds solace in spending quality time with her family, especially her two boys, Leo and Isaac. Whether it's exploring the great outdoors, enjoying a family movie night, or cheering on her boys at their sporting events, she values the precious moments and believes in maintaining a healthy work-life balance.

Dylan Criado-McNamara is an accomplished ophthalmic technician with years of invaluable experience in the field. His unwavering dedication to his craft and his passion for providing patients with a comfortable and informative experience make him an exceptional healthcare professional.

Dylan's love for helping others extends beyond the medical field. When he's not working, he enjoys pursuing various hobbies that bring him joy and fulfillment. Dylan is a fitness enthusiast, frequently hitting the gym to maintain a healthy and active lifestyle. He believes that physical well-being is essential for overall happiness.

Additionally, Dylan is an avid cook, finding solace and creativity in the kitchen. Experimenting with different flavors and techniques allows him to unwind and express his culinary talents. Whether it's whipping up a gourmet meal or trying out new recipes, he takes great pleasure in the art of cooking.

Music has always been an integral part of Dylan's life, and he channels his creative energy through playing the guitar. Strumming chords and writing melodies provides him with an outlet for self-expression and relaxation.

Lastly, Dylan enjoys indulging in video games as a way to unwind and immerse himself in different worlds. It allows him to keep his reaction time sharp and his brain engaged with new challenges.

Meaghan Shakir

Chief of Operations, Growth, Strategy and Development

Meaghan is a dedicated professional with a multifaceted role at Coastal Eye. Serving as the Practice Executive, Surgical Scrub Technician, and Surgical Counselor, she brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the practice. Meaghan's steadfast dedication, combined with her passion for providing exceptional patient care, makes her an invaluable asset to the team.

From the very beginning, Meaghan has been an integral part of Coastal Eye. She joined the practice alongside Dr. Shakir during its inception, and her contributions have been instrumental in its growth and success. As the Surgical Scrub Technician, Meaghan exhibits expertise and precision in the operating room. Her attention to detail and ability to anticipate the needs of the surgical team ensure that procedures are conducted seamlessly and safely.

Beyond her technical skills, Meaghan serves as the Surgical Counselor, providing invaluable guidance and support to patients throughout their surgical journey. She understands that undergoing eye surgery can be a daunting experience, and she works tirelessly to ensure that each patient feels informed, comfortable, and confident in their decision. Meaghan takes the time to listen to patients' concerns, address their questions, and provide them with the necessary information and resources to make informed choices about their treatment options.

Dee Robinson

Dee brings five years of experience in ophthalmology and takes pride in helping patients feel informed, comfortable, and cared for throughout their visits. He enjoys sharing his knowledge to help patients better understand their eye health and is currently pursuing his ophthalmic technician certification.

Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter, growing his film and manga collections, and studying the art of anime and filmmaking. He’s also a diehard New York Giants fan.

Jaclyn Gilleo

Hi, I’m Jackie, a Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) with over 14 years of experience in ophthalmology. As the Senior Surgical Concierge for Dr. Shakir, I personally coordinate and schedule his surgical procedures, ensuring each patient receives a seamless and personalized experience from consultation through surgery.

I believe exceptional patient care begins with how you are treated and how you feel throughout the process. I approach every conversation with compassion, empathy, and kindness while providing the knowledge and attention to detail you deserve when making important decisions about your vision.

In addition to my surgical coordination role, I am also a Retinal Photographer for SightSera, bringing specialized experience in advanced retinal imaging and clinical research to my work.

My goal is simple: to make your surgical journey feel effortless, informed, and truly personal. From your first call to your day of surgery, I’m here to guide you every step of the way.

Martha Kaczynski

Martha Kaczynski is a Lead Ophthalmic Clinical Research Coordinator with experience in Phase 2, Phase 3, and Phase 4 clinical trials. She specializes in patient coordination, ophthalmic testing and imaging, study documentation, and clinical data management, with experience in both masked and unmasked studies.

Martha has a strong background in ophthalmology and clinical research, supporting patients throughout their study visits while ensuring accurate documentation and adherence to study protocols. Her experience includes performing ophthalmic assessments and diagnostic imaging, coordinating study visits, maintaining study records, and supporting the clinical research process from screening through follow-up.

Martha is detail-oriented and takes a patient-focused approach to clinical research, with a strong commitment to accuracy, protocol compliance, and quality patient care.

Outside of work, Martha enjoys staying active, traveling, and following sports. She especially enjoys discovering new places and spending time with family and friends.

Gené Nieuwoudt

Gené is a Clinical Research Coordinator at Coastal Eye, where she works closely with patients and physicians on clinical trials exploring new treatments for retinal disease. A graduate of Washington University in St. Louis with a degree in Biology, she brings a strong scientific foundation, natural curiosity, and careful attention to detail to her work.

Her approach to research is shaped by both a genuine interest in science and a strong sense of responsibility to the patients it serves. Gené is drawn to understanding not only how treatments work, but what they can make possible for the people receiving them. She brings that perspective to her work with patients, ensuring they feel informed, comfortable, and supported throughout the research process.

As she pursues a career in medicine, Gené hopes to continue bringing together the scientific curiosity and commitment to patients that guide her work at Coastal Eye. Outside of work, she enjoys reading, going to concerts, spending time outdoors, and exploring new places whenever she gets the chance.

Sabrina Salguero

Sabrina holds a degree in Health Science and has years of experience in clinical and allied healthcare settings, including pharmacy, medical administration, and ophthalmology.

With over three years of experience as an Ophthalmic Technician, Sabrina has worked across multiple subspecialties, including retina, glaucoma, cornea, pediatrics, and neuro-ophthalmology. Her broad clinical background provides a strong foundation in patient care, healthcare workflows, and attention to detail, which translates well to clinical research at SightSERA.

Stephani Castellanos

As a Front Desk Coordinator, Stephani has been a valued member of the Coastal Eye team for the past five years. She welcomes patients, assists with scheduling and insurance questions, coordinates check-out and follow-up appointments, and enjoys making each patient’s experience as comfortable and positive as possible.

One of the most rewarding parts of her role is getting to know patients personally, seeing their happiness when she remembers them at follow-up visits, and hearing how their vision and quality of life have improved through their care at Coastal Eye.

Outside of work, she loves reading, taking walks with her dog, and exploring new coffee shops on the weekends.
