If you're traveling from out of town for an eye appointment, it's important to plan ahead. Make sure you know the date and time of your appointment, as well as the location of our office. Dr. Shakir is a board-certified ophthalmologist with extensive expertise and an unwavering commitment to excellence. He excels in the specialized fields of cataract and vitreoretinal surgery. After receiving his Doctor of Medicine degree at Albany Medical College, Dr. Shakir completed an internship at the prestigious Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore as well as an elite residency at the University of Florida. Additionally, Dr. Shakir pursued a fellowship in vitreous and retina surgery at Yale University.

She earned her Doctor of Optometry degree from Nova Southeastern University College of Optometry, where she received advanced training in dry eye diagnostics and treatments. At Coastal Eye, Dr. O’Loughlin brings expertise in advanced treatments including Lumenis IPL therapy, TearCare, meibomian gland expression, biologic amniotic membrane therapy, and the latest technologies in dry eye care.
